I thought you might like to know about me, so I put this page together. I would like to point out that it is not, instead, because I am narcissistic in any way. (Who--me? I only have my own website and blog and pinterest and mile-long "about me" page. Yeah. No clue where you would have gotten that idea.)

Random facts about Rachel that could be helpful:
I'm a girl of two worlds. I'm an Indian citizen who lives in America, and has visited India numerous times. Yeah, so I have international experience and all that jazz.

And negotiation skills, too. Developed from planning 2 week trips to India that have to be spread out between 7 families, in two totally different  sides of the "in-laws." I practically have a degree in negotiation from the school of hard knocks.

They say middle children are like this. Which I am--the 3rd of 5. This has also made me a good problem solver.

I am terrific at cooking in mass quantities, and I have a natural talent for sprinkling random amounts of random spices and making foods that taste De-licious. Except when they don't, and we have a large pot of gloop molding in the fridge. But experimentation drives innovation, right?

I can imagine things visually, and I'm pretty good at finding my way around.

I can get work done fast. (It might not always be perfect, but that's another story).

Stories! I like stories! I have ever since I wrote my first story at 5 years old. It was about a little girl named Love who didn't know how to love. I guess I was just living up to my granddad's nickname for me.

He called me "philosopher." When I was three years old. I do like to philosophize about life, though. Which is helpful, because--hey!--we're all living it!

Another of my nicknames is "Hercules" because I often lift or move heavy things on my  own, like tables, sofas, matresses, boxes, and shelves loaded with books. I'm also pretty good at arm-wrestling. (I will not mention all my nicknames--past and/or present--that include Peaches and Cream, Wretched, Pot-bellied Seahorse, and Run-Away Rachel."

I'm a natural at picking up new things (other than nicknames).

I have a great memory. As proof, I came to the Finals of the First National Bible Bee, which means that I was in the top 21 of over 17,000 competitors. The competition involved memorizing over 1,300 verses from the Bible.

I'm an intellectually curious person. I always want to be learning new things. No matter what way you look at it, I think this is a pretty good thing. (Except maybe for the fact that it makes me interested in a lot of divergent topics.)

But that might not actually be that bad! In fact, my diverse intellectual interests are what make me a pro at connecting content from totally unrelated spheres of knowledge.

I can think up new ideas at the drop of a hat. Thanks to my extensive, inter-connected knowledge.

I'm a right-y who plays tennis with my left hand. Which is a good thing, because it basically means that I'm half-way to being ambidextrous, and means that I have a larger-than-usual corpus callosum, which makes me a very internally connected individual.

I know what the corpus callosum is.

In fact, I'm pretty good at A&P and Bio overall. I can dissect pigs and frogs and fish and grasshoppers, and find their brains. And, as the highest possible recommendation,

I was homeschooled. Yes, this is a positive. And yes, I did sometimes (lots of times) wear pajamas to school.

I'm terrific at predicting the plots of movies. Accurately, too--most of the time.

I am a natural at acting, as evidenced by the fact that I can make my 11-year-old sister think that I'm dead.  Or creep her and my 15-year-old brother out by becoming a terrifying monster. I know, I know. I'll be merciful and not do it on you.

I can eat super spicy food. The amount of crushed red pepper flakes that I put on my pizza would make your tongue burn. And this is helpful because...I don't know. Oh yeah! It helps me whistle better.

I'm a visionary.

I'm good with a computer. Not good as in, I know coding and programming and all that jazz. I'm good in knowing how to make it work for me, and in getting basic programs to turn out pretty sweet end results.

I don't think age is a problem. So I'm friends with people of all ages, and I do stuff that people my age don't "usually" do. Actually, this could be a negative, because I often try unrealistic things. But that could be a positive too.

I know a lot of stuff that doesn't really matter at all. No, that doesn't sound right. I know a lot of stuff about really random things. This is helpful because I could be on Jeopardy someday.

I'm great at finding out about new products, and staying on top of what is current.

And now, because I'm running out of stuff to brag about, I'll say that I'm a National Merit Finalist, AP Scholar with Distinction, and I got a 2280 on my SAT. I know. Way to feed into the Asian stereotype. What can I say? My mom wanted me to retake my SATs after I got the 2280.

Negatives:
I can't scream, which would definitely come in handy in life.

I can't swim. So if my boat capsizes in a lake, I'm gone.

I'm terrible at spelling. And we all know where this could lead. Ever heard the story of the space shuttle that burned up before take-off because of one mistake in it's flight instructions? Yeah.
